The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has announced its Strategic Plan 2030, set to come into effect on January 1, 2025. This five-year plan aims to provide high-quality intellectual property (IP) services to support innovation, competitiveness, and economic growth in Europe. The plan was shaped following a consultation process with nearly 2,000 participants and will guide EUIPO's activities for the next five years.
Key Objectives of the Strategic Plan 2030:
The EUIPO plan aims to balance both internal and external strategic elements. Internally, it seeks to become a modern, high-performing, and resilient organization. Externally, it aims to establish effective collaborations to provide quality IP services for citizens and businesses.
The strategic plan focuses on the following five main goals:
1- Optimizing Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness: EUIPO aims to improve its services towards long-term sustainable excellence.
2- Enhancing the Value of IP Products and Services: By expanding quality, consistency, and legal certainty, EUIPO aims to increase the value of its IP products and services.
3- Improving Access to the IP System: EUIPO aims to make the IP system more accessible to a broader audience.
4- Building Trust and Respect for IP Rights: Supporting the protection of IP rights and promoting respect for IP among the public.
5- Ensuring the Sustainability of the EU Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN): EUIPO seeks to ensure the sustainability of the EU’s intellectual property network.
This plan provides a comprehensive roadmap for EUIPO to strengthen the intellectual property ecosystem in Europe and foster economic growth through innovative solutions.
